lecture reflection
I enjoy learning more about the Dada movement as a whole, and it's interesting thinking about what I would've done had I lived in the time period closer to being after the war, and what I personally would've rejected/tried to create in protest. I do think I would've been quick to reject even the little and mundane things about society like not shaving my legs and supporting boys with grown out hair, no matter what family members might have thought, similarly to how I am currently rejecting my family's ideas related to their politics and Trump. I feel inspired to honestly learn more about history and to think about how I can use my creativity to reflect how I feel about culture.
I love the color blocking and the more simplistic styles, like the yellow poster with the woman facing to her side, which feels similar to my personal style. I also totally love seeing the Japanese posters and the unique colors and styles presented--this is something that I would love to hear more about...just in terms of the process/differences...thinking about the Japan study abroad has me wanting to learn more about Japanese styles and designs.

This is an inspiring comment, and underlines the importance of studying history, and strong statement of self.
