1/22/20 Lecture Post

The thing that I liked most from this part of the lecture was the Japanese ukiyo-e prints as I have always found that style of art to be fascinating, both in the way that it was created and the depictions that it shows. What the works depict always give some sort of deep insight into their culture whether it be their respect for land or their attitude towards the ability of women. There is some sort of message behind each print whether it is directly shown or not. Also just looking at those pieces gives some sort of peaceful feeling as the colors are always so soft and the shapes are often rounded and soft looking as well creating a sort of tranquil piece of art.
